All levels welcome | Open enrollment | 2-hour class
Whether you’ve never picked up a crochet hook or already have some experience and want guidance on your next project, this open-enrollment class gives you the opportunity to learn and build your crochet skills at your own pace.
Brand-new crocheters will start with the basics, including how to hold a hook and yarn, foundational stitches, reading your work, and completing your first project. Returning students can continue building their skills through a selection of guided projects.
Open enrollment
There’s no required multi-week commitment. Register for the dates that work for you and continue working through your project each time you attend.

Crochet projects
Students can progress through a variety of projects while learning and practicing new crochet skills.
Project #1 — Dishcloth/Washcloth
A great starting project for new crocheters.
Supplies needed:
• Approximately 5 oz. medium/worsted-weight 100% cotton yarn
• Optional: 1–2 oz. of a second color for edging
• Size G or H crochet hook
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
Project #2 — Small Drawstring Purse or Handbag
Build on your crochet skills while creating a simple drawstring bag.
Supplies needed:
• Approximately 7 oz. medium/worsted-weight yarn of your choice
• Optional: approximately 2 dozen pony beads coordinating with your yarn
• Size G or H crochet hook
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
Project #3 — Kitchen Towel Holder
Continue practicing your crochet skills while creating a useful kitchen towel holder.
Supplies needed:
• Approximately 1–2 oz. medium/worsted-weight yarn of your choice
• One 3–4" wooden or metal ring
• Size G or H crochet hook
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
Project #4 — Ball or Blocks
Practice working with multiple colors and shaping while creating a soft crocheted project.
Supplies needed:
• Approximately 14–16 oz. total medium/worsted-weight yarn in 2–6 colors
• Polyester fiberfill/stuffing
• Size G or H crochet hook
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
Purchasing supplies
Students are welcome to bring supplies from home or purchase yarn and crochet supplies at Pink Thread before class. If you’re unsure what you need, arrive a little early and we’ll be happy to help you select the appropriate supplies for your project.
