Fiber & Width:
100% premium cotton with a small amount of stretch (commonly 95% cotton / 5% spandex), presented as jersey knit ideal for garments, kidswear, and soft apparel sewing. Typical width for AGF knits is around 58–60″ (147–152 cm) — wider than quilting cotton to accommodate knit garment construction.
OEKO-TEX:
Art Gallery knit fabrics carry OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, which means they’ve been tested for harmful substances and are safe for use in clothing, accessories and children’s wear.
Care & Washing:
Machine wash cold on gentle cycle with similar colors. Tumble dry low or lay flat to dry to preserve stretch and shape. Use mild, bleach-free detergent; avoid high heat drying or ironing directly on the spandex for best results.
Shrinkage:
As with most cotton-rich knits, expect some mild shrinkage (~3–6%) the first few washes — pre-washing before cutting is recommended, especially for fitted garments (knits generally shrink more than woven quilting cotton).
