Create your own custom-fit pair of jeans in this hands-on 4-week class. You’ll work through the Dawn Jeans Pattern by Megan Nielsen while learning key techniques for working with denim.


This class is designed for confident beginners to intermediate sewists (ages 14+) who are ready to take the next step into garment construction.


What you’ll learn

• Fitting and adjusting a pattern

• Working with denim

• Topstitching techniques

• Zipper installation

• Waistband construction


Class schedule

Saturdays | 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM

4 consecutive weeks + 1 make-up class


Session 1:

April 25, May 2, May 9, May 16


Session 2:

May 23, May 30, June 6, June 13

• 12 hours of guided instruction

• Small class size (maximum 4 students)


Cost

$120 per student


What to bring

Students are required to bring:

• Non-stretch denim fabric (available in-store)

• Matching thread (regular + topstitching recommended)

• Denim needles (90/14 or 100/16)

• Jeans zipper

• Pocket lining fabric (cotton shirting, calico, or poplin)

• Midweight fusible interfacing (for waistband)

• Basic sewing supplies (pins/clips, scissors, seam ripper, marking tool, measuring tape)


Optional:

• Jeans hardware kit (button + rivets — coming soon in-store)


Fabric must be pre-washed before class. Additional materials can be purchased after the first session if needed.


Additional notes

• Homework may be assigned between classes to keep you on track

• Spots are limited and classes tend to fill quickly
